On Tuesday 18 May, our Clerks and Readers participated in the LawRight Queensland Legal Walk. The 2021 Walk celebrates 20 years of LawRight undertaking pro bono work in our community. This year, the Queensland Legal Walk raised over $100,000 for:
- Financial counsellor for people experiencing homelessness.
- Pilot service for self-representing in the Magistrates Court.
- Health Justice Partnership at Mater.
- Disbursement Fund, supporting pro bono work by Community Legal Centres and the legal profession.
The Members and Staff of North Quarter Lane Chambers contributed $6,980 toward the fundraising total. Chambers is very proud of its continued support of the Queensland Legal Walk, and encourages those who have not donated to do so via LawRight’s website.
