Matthew was admitted to the profession in 2019 and called to the Bar in 2023.
Matthew has a broad civil practice with a focus on civil, commercial and competition law matters. He has advised and appeared (led and unled) on behalf of government and corporate clients in complex litigation in the Federal and Queensland courts. He has also acted in tax and revenue law matters both for revenue authorities and private taxpayers.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Matthew was an Associate at MinterEllison in the Dispute Resolution team. In 2019, he was Associate to the Hon Justice JA Logan RFD on the Federal Court of Australia. From 2017 to 2018, he was an Associate at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
Matthew is currently the national Vice-President of the Australian Institute of Administrative Law (AIAL). He is also the Secretary of the AIAL’s Queensland Chapter.
Matthew has also published extensively in Australia and the UK. His academic writing has been cited in the Federal Court of Australia and the Australian Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
