In honour of the UN’s International Women’s Day, the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland (WLAQ) has published its annual ‘Inspo List’. The ‘Inspo List’ is a comprehensive selection of women from the legal community who have inspired the WLAQ Committee over the past year. It recognises contributions made by women across Queensland, including judges, magistrates, politicians, students, lawyers, and corporate leaders.
This year, North Quarter Lane is delighted that our member Avelina Tarrago is listed. Avelina is a WLAQ First Nations Advisor and has served as President of the Indigenous Lawyers Association of Queensland since 2018. Avelina is also a member of numerous legal policy committees relating to Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders.
