Ron Ashton was admitted as a solicitor in 1972, and was Senior Partner and Chairman of Partners in Queensland of Minter Ellison Lawyers, and Vice-President of the Queensland Law Society.
Since coming to the Bar in 2005, he has had a general commercial practice, with a particular interest in insurance law.
Ron is co-author with retired Supreme Court Justice, The Hon D K Derrington, of The Law of Liability Insurance, now in its third edition. In 2001, he was awarded the Australian Insurance Law Association’s Insurance Law Prize for services to Insurance Law education. He serves on the Bar Association Professional Indemnity and Professional Standards Committee.
